The Best Kept Secret in Low Country
Our History

Through extensive renovation efforts, this property has been restored to its quintessential southern beauty.
The property extends beyond the house, featuring 5.5 acres of open and wooded landscapes ideal for accommodating guests and hosting events. Spacious patios, balconies, and the pool area provide excellent settings for relaxation and social gatherings. The Manor offers five guest suites, each equipped with ensuite bathrooms and adorned with luxurious bed linens, robes, towels, and bath amenities. Guests are provided with complimentary Wi-Fi and parking, along with the added indulgence of complimentary breakfast and afternoon refreshments. Featured Artist: Amiri Farris
We are absolutely thrilled to showcase the incredible artwork of one of the Low Country's most beloved artists, Amiri Farris, here at May River Manor. Amiri Farris is renowned for his vibrant and powerful creations, skillfully blending vivid colors and textures that beautifully capture the essence of Gullah Culture and Sea Island Wildlife. His unique approach goes beyond traditional painting techniques; he layers paper on paint and vice versa, skillfully bringing to life the images that inspire him. When you gaze into a Farris piece, you'll discover an enchanting depth where images and colors come alive in a lively dance across the canvas.
Farris shares, "I aimed to freeze a moment in time, celebrating the unique
wildlife habitat and people that define our sea island experience."
Notably, his work is enshrined in the permanent collections of the African-American Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the extraordinary world of Amiri Farris' art—a celebration of our unique sea island experience.
